Finding The Right Online Degree Program For You
You have done all of your research and know the online degree programs that you like. Now you are down to a choice between three university distance learning program. How do you know which online degree program is the right one for you?
Review the websites of the three contending online degree programs one more time. Does anything stand out to you about how they explain their program? Is there anything that sticks out as a potential problem? For everything you like about their description of their program give them a point. For every concern you have take a point away or give them a minus point. Tally up all of the scores from this exercise and see if one clearly stands out as being more positive than the other. This is your instinctive response to how they present their material and remember that this is the main way that the online degree program will be presented to you after you enroll.
Next review again the questions that you asked of them while you were doing your research, and the answers that they provided. For every answer give the schools a point for a poor answer, two points for a good answer and three points for a great answer. This is a comparative review and note if one of the schools overall response is more positive than the others.
If you haven't already done so make sure that your list of questions include the following topics:
How long does it take an average student to complete their degree?
How many hours do they anticipate an average student will spend on course work per week?
How old is the average age of students in their online degree program?
What are their transfer policies?
Who are the faculty members and what is their training background?
Do they have library resources and mentoring services available for online students?
In addition to those questions you will have already asked and received a response to technical, financial, and scheduling questions. Review all of the responses and once again and give the schools a point for a poor answer, two points for a good answer and three points for a great answer. This is your technical review.
Now you have three different ways to evaluate your options and out of this process you should have a clearer answer to the question of which online degree program may be right for you.

Marketing Articles: Promoting Your Site Twice!
Marketing Articles: Promoting Your Site Twice!
By: Martin Lemieux (Smartads - President)
I recently became aware that promoting your web site in Search Engines can instantly be double within Google! That's right, you can instantly promote your site 2 times at once!
So how do you Market Your Site twice?
Simple...
Most of us typically promote www.yoursite.com. But what you
need to realize is that most sites can be found on search
engines simply by entering... http://yoursite.com - without
the www.
Try it for a second, lets go to google and type in your
url with the www. and then without the www.
So for me it would be:
1) www.smartads.info
2) http://smartads.info
The same will apply for sub-domains as well. A sub-domain is
a section of your site dedicated to something you create but
instead of residing within your normal directory, it resides
within it's own directory,like I've illustrated below...
Normal:
www.yoursite.com
Sub-Domain:
www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
And with that again, you can promote your sub-domain twice
in Search Engines like so...
1) www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
2) http://sub-domain.yousite.com
So in turn, I've just showed you how you can promote 4 sites
with all the same goal in mind, yours of course!
How to utilize your new found knowledge:
Hopefully, you are all aware of how important it is to create
a link exchange program for your business? Well, what you
simply want to do is to mix up your links when submitting to
other companies for a listing within their site.
In other words...
Lets say I just found 4 sites that I want to exchange links
with, I would do something like this...
Site #1: I would submit (www.yoursite.com)
Site #2: I would submit (http://yoursite.com)
Site #3: I would submit (www.sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Site #4: I would submit (http://sub-domain.yoursite.com)
Now I'm promoting my site with 4 times the power than before!
But don't stop there...
Do you write articles? How about committing 2 of your links
to every article. Change them up with each article.
Ex:
Article #1 (How to Submit Your Site to Search Engines)
Try adding
www.yoursite.com
www.sub-domain.yoursite.com
Article #2 (How to Market Your Site Twice)
Try adding
http://yoursite.com &
http://sub-domain.yoursite.com
I hope this small timbit of knowledge gives you the edge you
need to put your business ahead of the game!
Best of luck to you!

3 Simple Ways to Generate Cash Flow
This article focuses on generating cash as a full time job or "on the side" to support your business. These are three easy methods that will help you grow your business while generating more cash on the side.
1. Watch the Market Trends
Imagine selling the hottest product on the market and generating excessive cash flow for yourself and your business. Now imagine watching your profits deteriorate because you did not keep watching the market for the next "big thing". There is a new "hottest item" on the market and you missed out at being on the leading edge because you didn't think ahead. Keeping ahead of market trends can be amazingly easy. Just think, around Christmas people buy of millions of dollars worth or supplies, decorations and trinkets for a 1 day celebration! Also, everyone with school aged children goes shopping for "back to school" time. Simply by watching the market and sometimes the time of year, you can dramatically increase your cash flow. This is what thousands of sellers on eBay do each day!
2. Diversify what you Sell
No matter if you are selling on eBay, the internet or face to face; having a full "portfolio" of products will help you to be successful. If you are selling one type of product, what happens if it stops selling well in your market. The price drops, and you are losing money! A very wise decision with selling is to buy moderately. You can purchase 4-5 of one product and 4-5 of something else. Don't exceed the consumer demand or the prices will plummet. Another great way to increase cash is to purchase complementing products. As an example, if you own an online store "Great Pens of America" why not sell paper, ink replacements and pen holders. All these products will complement your featured product. This is just an example which you can apply to whatever products you sell.
3. Places to Sell your Products
Where you sell your products can be almost as important as what you sell. If you try selling wonder bras in an online magazine (e-zine) which has a mainly male subscription, you will not get much response (hopefully)! Below, I have listed several very good places to sell your products and services.
eBay - A great place to sell just about everything. I do suggest that you look around through the categories to see what is selling and for how much.
Expos/Conventions - This is a great place to get your products noticed by thousands of new customers. Don't expect to sell a lot at the expo though. Most of what you will get by talking to people are leads for future sales. Following up with leads and prospects is a great way to keep your business going in a selling drought.
Flee Markets - This is a place to sell just about anything you want. Depending on what type of market it is, you can generally set up a table or booth for about $10-$20 a day. Most flea markets only run on the weekend getting the most traffic.
E-zines - Internet magazines (e-zines) are a cheap and great way to advertise your business or products. Many e-zines are free and have a specific target audience. Before putting your ad in an e-zine, check their subscription target audience and number of subscribers, it won't do you any good putting your ad in an e-zine which targets the wrong audience or only a few subscribers.

Job Search
Boost Your Job Search with the Buddy System
Remember back in grade school when the teacher asked you to hold hands with a friend on field trips? The idea behind the buddy system is that it’s much harder to get lost if there are two of you traveling together. When you get into trouble, your buddy can help you out, or find someone else who can.
Maybe you could use a buddy in your job search. The constant challenges you encounter while seeking out job opportunities and going on interviews make job-seeking a difficult road to travel all alone, and it’s easy to get lost. Teaming up with a job search buddy can give you:
Perspective - A different point of view on your progress or challenges. Just hearing your problem restated by another person can give you new insight that will help you find a solution.
New Ideas - A partner for brainstorming and an extra pair of eyes and ears to spot opportunities. You can double the amount of knowledge and experience at your fingertips.
Accountability - Someone other than yourself to whom you are accountable -- who will ask you once a week what you have done so far, and what's next.
Support - Space to complain or celebrate out loud, with someone who cares about your progress. If you’re facing a roadblock, grousing about it for a few minutes may be all you need to get back into action. And having someone to share your success with can make it much sweeter.
While you could use your spouse, best friend, or a co-worker to provide this extra help, the individuals closest to you may not be the best choice. The people in your personal life will not always be thrilled with how much time you’re spending on looking for work, and your co-workers may tend to sidetrack you with day-to-day job issues. You may find it more helpful to find a buddy who can maintain some detachment, but who also understands the importance of your job search.
You and your buddy can assist each other in reaching your goals by setting up a regular check-in, where each of you reports on progress, announces successes, and describes challenges. The buddy's job is to listen, celebrate, commiserate, and be a brainstorming partner. Here’s how to make the buddy system work for you in job-seeking:
1. Set a fixed time to talk. Whether you meet by phone or in person, set a start and end time for your conversation. Half an hour is enough; an hour is plenty.
2. Check in about goals and action steps. Make a brief report about where you are with your job search and what steps you have taken since your last meeting. Keep your check-in brief and to the point, e.g. “I got one interview this week, and set up two appointments for networking lunches. I revised my résumé to include more of my past accomplishments, and applied for three new job openings.” Acknowledge your buddy’s progress and celebrate his or her success.
3. Help each other solve problems. Ask your buddy to first just listen while you tell him or her what's going on and clear your emotional reaction to it. Your buddy can say things like, "Gee, that's tough," or "How awful!" but should not offer any advice until you are through. Talk about not only what is happening, but how it makes you feel. If it sounds like complaining, that probably means you're doing it right.
You might say something like this: "I've been trying for two weeks to finish my résumé, and there's just been one emergency after another, and now my mother wants me to help sell her car, and I'm so frustrated! All the words I write down just come out wrong, and I don't think it'll ever come together, and I needed it yesterday, and I'm so worried that..." You get the idea.
Set a time limit of 5 minutes for reporting and clearing. At the end of that time, ask your buddy to summarize for you: "I hear how frustrated and worried you are. You seem to have two problems that need to be solved -- finding the time to work on the résumé, and getting the words to come out right. Are you ready to look at some solutions?"
4. Brainstorm possible solutions. Your buddy's job is not necessarily to hand you the right answer -- his or her more important role is to help you expand your thinking to come up with some new ideas. Take your problems one at time, and together with your buddy, make a list of possible solutions. Don't edit the list as you are brainstorming; include anything and everything that comes up. You are not allowed to say, "That won't work," or "I already tried that."
Here are the potential results of a brainstorm on getting the right words for a résumé:
- hire a résumé writer
- plagiarize my friend’s résumé
- use the thesaurus
- ask my cousin the writer to help
- do a résumé with only pictures
- don't use a résumé at all
- look at sample résumés on the Internet
- take a class in how to write a résumé
- use what I have and stop worrying
- have some colleagues review it
5. Decide on your next steps. If none of the brainstormed ideas seem right, look at each one to see if there's something useful in it. Maybe you can't afford a résumé writer, but you know one you could ask for a word or two of free advice. Perhaps a class would take too long, but you could check out a book from the library. Find just one thing you can do that will get you moving toward a solution.
Regardless of any problems you try to solve during your session, always end by naming what steps you will take on your job search before your next meeting. Write these steps down — both yours and your buddy’s — so you can check in about them next time.
6. Keep the relationship reciprocal. Make sure each of you gets an equal amount of time at your meetings. If you end up spending the whole session on one person’s problem, devote the next session to the other buddy. Keep your buddy in mind as you make new discoveries and meet new people, and share any opportunities you uncover. The buddy system works best when you do for your buddy what you would like your buddy to do for you.

Make Extra Money
10 Days to Making More Money
Most of us overcomplicate things. Selling is pretty simple. True we need systems in place, support materials and a contact manager, but when all is said and done what stops us from selling is usually in our head, not in our office.
There are 4 actions when taken everyday for 10 working days with unswerving commitment will increase your sales and put more money in your pocket. Guaranteed!
1 - Set Your Intention
There is absolutely no substitute for knowing what you’re going after. Research clearly indicates when we set an intention or a goal we subconsciously as well as consciously align our actions and resources to attain that goal. What some folks find as lucky and coincidental is actually the power of intention at work. Few things are as powerful as our thoughts and if our thoughts are not aligned with our actions our thoughts always win. When you set a strong intention it gives your actions a path to follow instead of the other way around.
How many prospects will you contact each day? How many sales will you make? It is important to keep your intention clearly in front of you throughout the day. Don’t worry how all the details will come together just keep focused on what you want to accomplish. Intention does not take the place of action, but action alone can often result in activity and no sales.
A tip, set your intention so it is a stretch but not impossible. If you are contacting one or two new prospects a day, set an intention for 4 prospects. Once you’ve become successful at 4 increase to 6 and so on.
2 - 10 Referrals In 10 Days
Each day call a current customer, someone who is willing to advocate on your behalf and ask them who they know that they would be willing to refer you to. This exercise is not an exercise in selling as much as an exercise in asking. The world of selling is made up of unlimited networks all of them crisscrossing and intersecting through relationships. Selling is mastering the art of relationships and learning to ask for an introduction to the right relationship(s). This exercise is an essential component of more sales and more success. If you are a master at asking for referrals then ask for really high-end referrals. If you are new at this, then simply learn to ask. The trick is to do this for 10 days without wavering. This is called “Mastering the Ask”. Most people in sales think the most important ask is asking for the sale, it is not. The most important ask is asking for the referral. Master the Ask for just 10 days and watch your sales explode and your income grow.
3 - Work From the End Result Forward
Don’t wait until you’re successful to act successful. Act as though your success is actualized; you’ve accomplished what you’ve set out to accomplish. Place yourself in the future and work from a platform of success. Don’t indulge self doubt nor your negative thinking habits. Your job is to live in a platform of success for 10 working days.
Whether on the phone, face to face or in the exchange of email you are to come from a place of pure and certain success. This is not arrogance and this is not pretending to be something you are not. This is setting your intention for success 10 working days in the future and moving your mind and your actions to that place. This will be by far the toughest part of your 10 Days. Remember… actions follow thoughts and behaviors align with intention…..if you’re living success you’re thinking success and if you’re thinking success it is in the bag.
10 working days of working from your end result…….SUCCESS.
4 - Celebrate Every Chance You Get
Most of us are mesmerized by rejection (that’s because it allows us evidence for the validity of our negative thinking). Give it up.
Celebrate every success large and small (especially small if you’re just starting in this great business of sales). Celebrating all your successes trains the mind to allow success. Many folks fail in sales because they train their mind to look for evidence of failure.
With more failure there is greater resistance to selling and with resistance you’ll talk yourself or worse work yourself right out of the greatest job on earth. For 10 working days celebrate every success that comes your way. Revel in the emotion of success, brag to your friends, send off emails to your coaches, and let yourself feel what it feels like to win.
Tip
It is important to do this for 10 working days, then adjust intentions.
10 days in enough to set a pattern, learn new behaviors without overwhelming yourself. Keep it fun, celebrate the success and find a partner to work with. We find in our coaching sessions that our clients do much better when they have a buddy.
